Glow Integrative Clinic offers registered acupuncture in Victoria, BC
Acupuncture is the primary modality of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). Through the use of hair-like needles, the practitioner is able to stimulate energy (Qi) through the body to support a variety of symptoms and health concerns. The aim of treatment is to harmonize the body-mind-spirit to prompt the body’s ability to heal. Acupuncture is known to be deeply relaxing and a powerful aid in shifting back to wellness. Treatments at Glow incorporate different modalities including acupuncture, acupressure, cupping, bodywork, gua sha, ear seeds, and lifestyle supports. Glow offers acupuncture at the Oak Bay location.

Co-Owner & Acupuncturist
I am licensed as a Registered Acupuncturist in British Columbia under the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners and Acupuncturists. In addition, I hold certifications as a Kinesiologist with the BC Association of Kinesiologists, as a Clinical Exercise Physiologist and High Performance Specialist with the Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology, and as a yoga teacher through the Yoga Alliance.
I am grateful to have been introduced to a wise and intuitive acupuncturist in my youth who truly shaped the way that I approached my own health. Since that point, I always had a keen interest in the human body, how it worked and the incredible interconnectedness in its ability to heal.
This made it a clear transition to enter into the field of Kinesiology, completing my Bachelor of Kinesiology at the University of Calgary in 2007, and my Master of Arts in Kinesiology at the University of Victoria in 2009. After completion, I wanted to find a clinical setting in which I could apply what I knew as a kinesiologist, with a broader and more integrated type of medicine. This led me to complete my Diploma in Acupuncture at Pacific Rim College in 2014. I have completed additional advanced training in women’s integrative health through Dr. Aviva Romm’s Women’s Functional and Integrative Medicine Professional Training Program, cosmetic acupuncture in the Mei Zen Cosmetic Acupuncture System by Martha Lucas, sports and orthopedic acupuncture with Whitfield Reeves, and advanced training in acupuncture for the management of cancer-related symptoms.
I feel incredibly lucky to be able to spend my days working with people of all ages and backgrounds to optimize health and integrate a whole-person approach to healing. I have experienced in myself and seen in others the amazing transformations which can be made through education, empowerment and treatment. I truly believe that these powerful forms of medicine can ignite our own healing response and bring us into a brighter, clearer and more radiant state of being.

Registered Acupuncturist
Carlene is a registered acupuncturist with a special interest in women’s health, pain management, and relaxation. She welcomes anyone interested in exploring how traditional Chinese medicine can enhance overall health and well-being. Carlene employs a range of modalities, including acupuncture, acupressure, cupping, tui na massage, gua sha, and electrical stimulation.
Her journey into acupuncture began when she faced her own hormonal imbalance and struggled with amenorrhea. Previously, Carlene worked as a veterinary technician, a role that involved many years of high-stress situations, which affected her mental, physical, and emotional well-being. In search of stress relief, she turned to holistic nutrition studies and discovered the acupuncture program at Pacific Rim College. Early in her studies, Carlene experienced acupuncture firsthand, finding the relief she sought and greater ease in her daily life. By embracing a holistic approach that combines nutrition, movement, and acupuncture, Carlene found balance.
Carlene’s goal is to ensure her patients feel welcomed and understood during their sessions. She holds a deep appreciation for both Eastern and Western medicine and aims to collaborate with you to achieve balance in your health journey.
